Adult Learning SHP 3313

Background

SHP 3313 Course Outline should be printed and kept by each student. For example, you should understand the marking cake and how to get the best result. However, in adult learning, the main goal is beyond the academic result; it deals with your heart, mind and paradigm shift to become a better person in building the nation and civilisation.

  1. Malcolm Knowles biography and contributions.
  2. Institute/Agency/Company that involves with adult learning. Describe the chosen Institute/Agency/Company from the perspective of adult learning and education – please do not submit to me a company or agency profile!
  3. By using table, differentiate between andragogy and heutagogy.
  4. Read Cultural Influence on SDL among Malay Adult Learners and
    Explore the Relationships Among Demography, Personality Traits and
    Self-Directed Learning
    to get more understanding about SDL and your own SDL. How could culture, self-concept etc influence your own SDL?
  5. By using mind map, conclude the adult learner development.
  6. Towards a comprehensive adult learning theory/model (10%).

  1. Sir, I’m your student from Adult Learning SHP3313. I’m from group 2, topic of articles is “Pratt, D.D. (1991). Conceptions of self within China and the US: contrasting foundations for adult education”, which going to present on 15 Nov.
    There is some questions from us, and hope Sir can give some feedback.

    1. What are the scope/content going to present on that day (15 Nov)?

    2. The review/comment/cross referring for the articles is base on whole articles or only focus on adult education part?
