UHS 2122 Critical & Creative Thinking

Background

Mind and heart are great gifts from God. Deep thinking includes critical and creative thinking make human different from animal, make trustworthy scholar different from flatterer (pengampu), even can give the best solution for the global crisis. In one perspective, the main problem with our politicians is they never think deeply and wisely. In another perspective, you are what you think besides you are what you read and eat!

Homework (only for my section students)

1. Explain how creativity helps _____ to become ______.
2. Great invention/innovation by Malaysian.

Major project (INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT)

‘Cool’ social innovation (not less than 10 pages; Times New Roman 12; 1.5 spacing; together with refrences; must be submitted in hardcopy by 28 December 2011). You may get some ideas from the projects by Dell Social Innovation Competition winners and you should recognise that (from one perspective) social innovation is  9/10 from the total innovation.

Test

Your test will be on 30 November 2011. It will be based on all of the slides as well as my lectures in the classroom. No softcopy notes, even it is an opened book test. All the best!

Exam and last three topics

Your exam will be on 6 January 2011.  It will be based on all of the last three topics given, that are about critical thinking. All the best too!
